Comprehensive assessment across all skill areas
SIGNAL assesses all four language skills with automatically scored tasks. Results are available immediately after the test.
Listening tasks
Questions based on real everyday and workplace situations. Measures whether the participant understands spoken Finnish in practice — not just word recognition.
Speaking tasks
Participants respond in their own words. Scoring measures vocabulary range and how coherently the answer addresses the question — using the same criteria every time, without differences in assessor interpretation.
Writing tasks
Open-ended writing tasks assessed for grammar, vocabulary and clarity of message. Participants produce their own text, so the result reflects real writing skills — not multiple-choice guessing.
Reading comprehension
Text-based tasks that measure the ability to find and interpret information — the same skill needed to understand instructions, forms, and everyday and workplace communication.
A range of task types
AI-assisted content creation tools make it straightforward to extend assessment content and tailor it to your organization’s own needs.
- Multiple choice: Automatically scored multiple-choice items across the different skill areas.
- Writing tasks: Open-ended writing tasks for assessing grammar and communication.
- Speaking tasks: Audio recordings with automatic AI scoring.
- Gap-fill exercises: Completion tasks for testing vocabulary and grammar.
- Phrase construction: Building and ordering sentences.
