What level does the job require?
The language requirement is always defined by the employer based on the job. Below are general CEFR level descriptions to support that definition.
A1 Beginner · A2 Elementary · B1 Intermediate · B2 Upper intermediate · C1 Advanced

Fair and non-discriminatory use
Language assessment in recruitment and staff development is fair when the rules are clear.
